Pre- and Post-Pandemic Workspaces

When the pandemic hit, my collage went fully virtual so I had to finish my semester from home - working on these massive pieces for my Senior Seminar class. Fortunately, my bedroom was actually already combined with our art room (as both of my siblings were intentionally living at home so it was the least inconvenient to have me in the "common space". I made full use of the space at my disposal, even setting myself up a little work station on the floor complete with a quilt to sit on and some pillows to support my back - honestly more comfortable than my situation at college where I had to transport the pieces back and forth from the studio - where I worked sitting on the concrete floor - to my dorm room - where I mostly balanced a large drawing board (probably just a piece of sheet wood) on my lap while perched on the spare bed in my room. There were definitely a couple of times when having recorded or Zoom classes enabled me to multi-task and get some additional work done on these in a way that I could not have subtly managed in person. It's nice to find the little glimpses of the silver lining in situations like this.
