Macro Photography

Through macro photography, we are given the opportunity to see the world in new ways. The world is full of all kinds of intriguing patterns and textures but we are often too busy to notice them. The outward appearance of something is not always indicative of its nature, but seldom do we take the time to look closer and observe the secrets of the universe. I believe that macro photography is a way to encourage us to pay closer attention to the objects around us and discover that as we look closer, things change thus allowing us to see the hidden beauty of what once appeared simply as a flat and featureless surface. This series of photographs endeavors to allow many of these hidden nuances of a series of a collection of common, and even every day, objects to come into focus. All photos in this series were taken with a phone with a macro lense. (2015)
