Windows to the Soul

They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul;

If you look into mine, can you see the darkness?

The constant dilation, huge circles of black, taking in the world,

Absorbing the brokenness, the anguish, the hurt.

What would you do if you could see the darkness in my mind?

Would you still want to sit here and talk with me? Would you shrink from my touch?

How can I invite you in without staining you too?
